This is something I'd like to know about neuropsychology. Clearly, increased control over one's sleeping habits would lead to increased survivability, right? As a complete layman in the field, it seems to me that going from having nearly completely subconsciously controlled sleep habits to having slight influence over one's sleep cycle to having pretty good control would be a natural evolutionary progression. I mean, sleep is subconsciously controlled pretty much by definition, but choosing to enter the sleep state at least should not be such a pain in the posterior.

...and so it begins. A bit late, I might add. I wanted this comic (the comic, not the episode, which wasn't drawn yet) to begin on January 1st, which would be a cool and easy-to-remember anniversary date. Well, it didn't happen, and a month and a half passed, and now here we are. February 14th. If anything, I like this date even more. Webcomics, after all, are the type of thing that get read while sitting alone at home on a perfectly good evening, which is fitting for this holiday. Don't get me wrong; I'm not a bitter, single, Valentine's day hater. I'm just a bitter, single, is-detached-from-the-whole-issue. -er. Anyway, here's episode 1 of Journals of Toast. After weeks of procrastination followed by weeks of being overly stressed by schoolwork and social anxiety, I finally put the thing up. This episode is my favorite out of all the ones I've drawn, so I decided to start with it. Enjoy.
